Warren George Entsch, Chair of the Board of the Australian Rainforest Foundation.

"Warren EntschDescribed as 'a handy man with snakes, crocodiles and other wild creatures.' Warren George Entsch was the Federal member for the Far North Queensland electorate of Leichhardt, in the Australian Parliament. He was first elected in 1996, and was returned at three subsequent elections.

"Warren was Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry, Science and Resources 1998-2001 and was Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources from 2001 to 2006. In 2007 he retired from Federal Parliament to spend more time with his family.

"Born in Babinda, Queensland, Warren served in the Royal Australian Air Force 1969-78. His background is diverse encompassing a careers in real estate development, grazing and crocodile industry and company director before entering politics. He is the father of three sons and now spends his time between Cairns and his farm on the Atherton Tablelands.

"Warren’s deep passion for wildlife and conservation has been evident with his avid support of the ARF since its inception, securing significant Federal funding over the years. Warren brings invaluable experience to the ARF board." [1]
