Learn more about how the State Policy Network aids ALEC and spins disinformation in the states.

Young America's Foundation (YAF) describes itself as "the principal outreach organization of the Conservative Movement". YAF is an "associate" member of the State Policy Network.[1]

Koch Wiki

The Koch brothers -- David and Charles -- are the right-wing billionaire co-owners of Koch Industries. As two of the richest people in the world, they are key funders of the right-wing infrastructure, including the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and the State Policy Network (SPN). In SourceWatch, key articles on the Kochs include: Koch Brothers, Koch Industries, Americans for Prosperity, American Encore, and Freedom Partners.

On its website YAF states that it is "committed to ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values."

YAF sponsors conservative speakers - including John Stossel, Ann Coulter and David Horowitz - to visit university campuses. It also " distributes books and studies, holds conferences and seminars, and provides students with scholarship assistance." However, YAF does not actually pay for speakers.

Recently, YAF has been one of the major supporters of the intellectual diversity movement that has infiltrated discussion on college and university campuses across the country.

After the September 2002 retirement of M. Stanton Evans as director of the National Journalism Center it was "taken over" as a project of the Young America's Foundation. [1]

Young America's Foundation's leadership includes individuals who were or are active in Young Americans for Freedom including one Chairman and three National Executive Directors.

YAF is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organisation.

It is affiliated to a 501(c)(4) organisation - Young Americans for Freedom - which "engages in more activist programs such as political training and programs and more partisan activities such as demonstrations and conventions". Contributions to 501(c)(4) organisations are not deductible against tax, unlike donations to a 501 (c)(3) organisation.
