"Since its founding in 1982, the American Institute for Cancer Research has grown into the nation's leading charity in the field of diet, physical activity and weight management as it relates to cancer prevention. AICR supports research into the role of diet and physical activity in the prevention and treatment of cancer. It also offers a wide range of cancer prevention education programs." [1]

"n 1997, AICR and its international affiliate, the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF-UK), released Food, Nutrition and the Prevention of Cancer: a global perspective. This landmark and comprehensive report became the most authoritative source on food, nutrition and cancer prevention for 10 years.

"Since then, thousands more studies have been carried out and advances in technology have improved the way information is collected and analyzed. In 2007, WCRF/AICR released Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity, and the Prevention of Cancer: a Global Perspective. This report is the largest study of its kind ever published and its recommendations are based on the most up-to-date *research available.

"To date, AICR has committed more than $82 million for research related to diet and cancer. With its affiliate, WCRF in the United Kingdom, AICR has established a Continuous Review program to ensure the ongoing interpretation of the accumulated research in this area. In addition, AICR has established a wide range of education programs to bring its message of cancer prevention to millions of Americans.
