In the 2005 New Zealand general election the Exclusive Brethren played a major role in supporting the campaign of the National Party of New Zealand.

Some members of the EB became involved in producing and distributing pamphlets attacking New Zealand Labour Party and the Green Party of Aotearoa (New Zealand). In the course of the campaign it was revealed that the National Party's leader, Don Brash, had met several Exclusive Brethren activists several times. [1] [2]
