The Foundation for Human Security in the Middle East "meant to clarify principles, goals, and approaches we are taking toward promoting human rights, civil society, and regional security in the Gulf.

"In November 2003, the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC), organized an international conference on Elements of the Helsinki Process as Inspiration for the Gulf Region. The participants included leading analysts and activists from the region and Europe as well as diplomatic and political representatives from diverse perspectives." [1]

They run the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran.
