Gary Giovino, Ph.D. (Epidemiologist, expert on addiction): Plaintiff
Biography
Gary Giovino was the Chief of the Office on Smoking, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA (1994) (DJ 8/2/94). "The most eminent epidemiologist in the world regarding nicotine addiction" (M. Bars 4/94). Giovino says people smoking 6 to 15 cigarettes a day were much more likely to show indications of nicotine addiction than people who smoke 5 or fewer cigarettes a day (DJ 8/2/94). Giovino testified before the FDA Drug Abuse Advisory Committee (8/2/94) (DJ 8/2/94).
