Gary Lawrence

Gary Lawrence is an American opinion polster. He received a PhD in communications psychology from Stanford University in 1972. He runs a polling company called Lawrence Research.

Lawrence is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the LDS or Mormon Church). In the spring of 2007 he conducted a poll on the perception of Latter-day Saints in the United States.

Lawrence has since written a book titled How Americans View Mormonsim: Seven Steps to Inprove Our Image.

Lawrence has served as a Mormon bishop.

In 2008, he led his church's grassroots campaign to pass Proposition 8, outlawing same-sex marriage in California.[1]
