Gregg Harper has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing the 3rd district of the State of Mississippi, since 2009 (map).

Positions, record and controversies
Immigration
Harpers believes we need to enforce current immigrations laws rather than create new ones. He also supports making English America's official language. [1]
National Security
To enhance American national security, Harper says he supports continuing the missile defense program, and fighting terrorists abroad, as well as, providing the military with the proper tools to fight terror. [1]
Special Needs Children
Harper wants to promote better understanding of children with special needs, and the their issues. He also wants to provide support to families with special needs children, and encourage funding for research about treating special needs children. He says he supports and would advocate for programs that allow these children to have rewarding lives. [1]
Social Issues
Harper supports protecting traditional marriage, as well as protecting the unborn. [1]
Fiscal Responsibility
To restore fiscal responsibility, Harper says he will reduce spending, oppose tax increases and work for a balanced budget. [1]
Second Amendment
Harper says he will work to defend 2nd Amendment rights by supporting the right to keep and bear arms, engage in the sport of hunting, and advocating for national laws that guarantee a right to defend home and family. [1]
Bio
2008 elections
On April 1, 2008, Harper won the Republican nomination to replace Rep. Chip Pickering (R-Miss.) in the 2008 congressional elections.[2] He went on to defeat Democratic nominee Joel Gill in the November 2008 general election.[3]
