Linda Stender is a Democratic candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 7th Congressional District (map) of New Jersey. She received the Democratic nomination in the June 2008 primaries, to fill retiring incumbent Mike Ferguson's (R-NJ) seat in the November 2008 Congressional elections. [1]
However, in the 2008 general election, Stender lost to Republican candidate Leonard Lance, a state Senator from Hunterdon County. [2]

Today, Linda is proudly serving her fourth term in the New Jersey General Assembly where she is Vice Chairwoman of the Transportation and Pubic Works Committee and is also a member of both the Health and Senior Services Committee and the Tourism and Gaming Committee. [3]
2006 elections
In 2006, the Democrats nominated Stender to face Mike Ferguson in his November 2006 bid for reelection. Ferguson retained his seat. (See U.S. congressional elections in 2006)[4]

Stender received the Democratic nomination in the June 2008 primaries, so she will go on to try to fill retiring incumbent Mike Ferguson's (R-NJ) seat in the November 2008 Congressional elections.[5][6][7]
