  • March 6, 2007 - in Columbia, South Carolina, to testify at a House subcommittee hearing in favor of keeping the Barnwell nuclear waste dump open to other states until 2023; Barnwell "is the only commercial low-level site in the U.S. to take the most potent types of atomic refuse from any state," reported The State; Moore "told representatives the landfill poses no threat to the community" [34]
  • March 7, 2007 - in Toronto, Canada, to speak at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada's annual convention luncheon on "Digging for Green," described as "reveal[ing] the myths and misinformation that distort environmental debates and pos[ing] provocative questions that demand carefully thought out answers" [35]
  • April 5, 2007 - in Houston, Texas, promoting nuclear power to the Gulf Coast Power Association in The Woodlands; "Moore described himself as 'proudly skeptical' of claims the scientific community has reached a consensus on the causes of global warming, but said he remains in favor of moving away from reliance on fossil fuels," reported the Houston Chronicle [36]

  • September 11, 2007 - several Michigan speaking events: before the Washtenaw Economic Club in Ypsilanti, in a speech sponsored by DTE Energy, "which owns the Fermi 2 nuclear power plant in Monroe and recently began the application process to build a new plant at the site" [45]; before the World Affairs Council at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids [46]; and also in Monroe, Michigan [47]
  • September 17, 2007 - at The Canadian Club of Toronto in Canada, hosting what a press release describes as "a lively and engaging debate arguing that, much of the environmental movement, including Greenpeace, has lost its way when it comes to nuclear power, caught up in politically correct ideology and stooping to sensationalism to garner support." The event was promoted by Trillium Corporate Communications. [48]
  • September 18, 2007 - in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, to speak to the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce about nuclear power. [49]
  • September 19, 2007 - in Cortlandt, N.Y., to testify at public hearings held by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in favor of the relicensing of the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant [50] [51]
  • September 25-26, 2007 - in Atlantic City, N.J., speaking to the New Jersey state AFL-CIO's legislative conference; the following week, the state union joined the Exelon Corporation-funded pro-nuclear group the New Jersey Affordable, Clean, Reliable Energy Coalition [52]
  • October 3-4, 2007 - in Knoxville, TN, speaking at a conference on "The Role of Nuclear Power in Global and Domestic Energy Policy: Recent Developments and Future Expectations," co-hosted by the University of Tennessee's Howard Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.   • November 8, 2007 - in Blauvelt, New York, speaking at the Rockland Business Association's annual meeting, promoting the re-licensing of the Indian Point nuclear power plant. According to media accounts, Moore "asserted that the anti-nuclear movement was all but dead and that most opposition nowadays was seen in California and the Northeast." [54]
  • November ? 2007 - in Queens, New York, for a forum on "how low-income communities - specifically communities of color - are adversely affected by substandard energy policies." Moore told the audience, "While conservation and efficiency are vital, we need to look more at developing and reinvesting in the region's supply of clean, efficient, and non-greenhouse emitting energy sources."   • November 17, 2007 - in Vineland, New Jersey, promoting nuclear power at a luncheon hosted by the Southern New Jersey Development Council and New Jersey Affordable, Clean, Reliable Energy Coalition. [57] [58]
  • November 20, 2007 - in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, talking to the members of the Simcoe and District Chamber of Commerce about nuclear energy [59]
  • last week in November 2007 - "in the Czech Republic spreading the nuclear gospel in a private meeting with president Vaclav Klaus," according to the UK Sunday Times. [60]
  • December 11, 2007 - in New Orleans, Louisiana, giving a talk at POWER-GEN International, which calls itself "the world's largest power generation event," and is sponsored by Entergy, Siemens and General Electric, among other corporations. [61] Moore will address "the nuclear power renaissance and related issues," according to a POWER-GEN press release. [62] [63]
  • December 12, 2007 - in Austin, Texas, with "Tom Tevlin, also from Greenspirit; J. Scott Peterson, a spokesman for the Nuclear Energy Institute ... and Brad Bennett, of the CASEnergy Coaliton. ... They’re laying the groundwork for lobbying work on nuclear power. They’re meeting with the Texas Association of Business and utilities and have a bunch of 'private meetings,' though they said none are with city officials or state lawmakers," reported Asher Price. 2008

  • January 31, 2008 - at Oswego, New York, as part of the State University of New York (SUNY) Oswego's "Focus the Nation," described as "a national global warming teach-in and symposium." Moore's talk is titled, "Nuclear's Role in a Sustainable Energy Future." [65]
  • February 4, 2008 - at the Long Island University in Brookville, New York, promoting nuclear power in an event titled, "The Path to Cleaner Electricity." [66]
  • February 5 and 6, 2008 - in New Brunswick, Canada, at the University of New Brunswick Fredericton's faculty of engineering (Feb 5), and at the university's Saint John campus (Feb 6). Moore wants "to speak with university students and business groups to promote the use of nuclear power," as the province of New Brunwsick is "engaged in fractious debate over the utility of a second nuclear reactor and uranium mining efforts."   • February 24 to 26, 2008 - in Winnipeg, Canada, for the industry event "GrainWorld 2008," which will focus on "Food Versus Fuel." Moore's talk will address "the sustainability issues surrounding biofuels." [68]
  • March 3 - 7, 2008 - in South Africa, hosted by the Nuclear Industry Association of South Africa (NIASA) in association with the Universities of Witwatersrand, Pretoria, North-West, Western Cape and Stellenbosch as well as the MTN Science Centre in Cape Town; Moore will give a series of lectures on "Global Warming and the Search for Sustainable, Clean Energy."   • April 16, 2008 - in Brattleboro, Vermont, visiting the Brattleboro Reformer newspaper "to talk about the change in his philosophy," from anti-nuclear to pro-nuclear power [1]
  • April 18 / 29, 2008 - at Fort Assiniboine, Woodlands County, Alberta, Canada, giving a community presentation on "the environmental side of nuclear power." [72] [2]
  • April 22, 2008 - in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and April 23 in Boise, Idaho, speaking about nuclear power at events sponsored by the Partnership for Science & Technology [73] "in association with the Idaho Section of the American Nuclear Society."[3] Moore's lecture at the Bennion Student Building at University Place in Idaho Falls was "sponsored by the Partnership for Science and Technology and the Idaho Section of the American Nuclear Society." [4] The Idaho Statesmen article covering his talk opened: "Greenpeace founder Patrick Moore says there is no proof global warming is caused by humans, but it is likely enough that the world should turn to nuclear power."   • May 6, 2008 - in Chicago, Illinois, participating in an editorial meeting with the Chicago Defender, an African American publication [7]
  • May 8, 2008 - in Victoria, Texas, speaking to the Victoria Economic Development Corporation's semi-annual membership meeting. [8] [9]

  • July 7, 2008 - in Alberta, Canada, speaking about "Environmentalism in the 21st Century" for a national symposium on rural issues hosted by the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties. [14][15]
  • September 4, 2008 - in Saginaw Township and Mount Pleasant, Michigan, speaking at the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce's Percolator Breakfast, followed by "an invitation-only session in Mount Pleasant sponsored by Dow Chemical Co., DTE Energy, Central Michigan University Research Corp. and the Middle Michigan Development Corp" [16] and hosted by Central Michigan University's Program Board, on campus in Warriner Hall's Plachta Auditorium [17] Moore talked at the Buck's Run Golf Course in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.   • September 17, 2008 - in Poughkeepsie, New York, for the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce's monthly "contact breakfast," sponsored by M & T Bank [19] [20] The Poughkeepsie Journal reported that in his presentation Moore said that concerns over nuclear weapons during the Cold War prejudiced people against the use of nuclear energy. "In retrospect, nuclear energy is one of the cleanest," Moore claimed. [21] [22]
  • November 7, 2008 - in Madison, Wisconsin, for the University of Wisconsin's eHub Energy Conference titled, "Energizing the Midwest: Technology, Policy, and You," at the Fluno Center on campus. Moore is keynoting the event, along with WI Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton and WI Public Service Commission member Lauren Azar. [23]
  • November 28, 2008 - in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, for "Choose the Future: Education for Sustainable Development Conference," organized by Manitoba Education for Sustainable Development Working Group. No title is given for Moore's keynote presentation, in the event program (pdf). [24]
  • December 10, 2008 - in Washington, DC, for a debate on nuclear power with Arjun Makhijani, President of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research [25] [26]

2009

  • January 15, 2009: Moore delivered the keynote address at the Forest Products Association of Nova Scotia 75th annual general meeting and convention at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel in Halifax.[27][28]
  • February 10: Keynote speaker at the New Mexico Mining Association Dinner at the Santa Fe Hilton Hotel.[29]
  • February 11-13 2009: Moore was the keynote address speaker at the Energy Industry Conference: Managing Outage and New Build Risk through Virtual Planning organized by Dassault Systèmes and to be held at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at Seaworld in Orlando, Florida. "Keynote speaker Patrick Moore, Ph.D, co-founder of Greenpeace who recently initiated Greenspirit, will discuss the critical role Nuclear Power will play in the future and why the industry must apply digital technology to support it," a media release promoting the event states.[30]
  • February 13, 2009: Moore spoke to seven classes at the Charter School for Educational Excellence in Yonkers, New York, "about renewable energy, forest conservation and other environmental topics." [31]
  • March 7, 2009: Moore received the "2009 National Award of Nuclear Science" from the National Atomic Museum Foundation, at the group's annual "Einstein Society Gala" in Albuquerque, New Mexico. [32]
  • March 12, 2009: Moore addressed a joint committee of Wisconsin legislators, the Wisconsin Senate Commerce, Utilities, Energy, and Rail Committee and the House Energy and Utilities Committee, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He encouraged legislators to remove the state's moratorium on building new nuclear power plants, saying (according to a statement), "The round-the-clock baseload production of nuclear energy can power our homes and businesses while creating high paying jobs that cannot be shipped overseas, all without polluting our air and lungs."   • March 31, 2009: Moore gave a keynote address at the National Hydrogen Association's "Annual Hydrogen Conference" in Columbia, South Carolina. [37] [38] Moore's talk is sponsored by Entergy, Areva, Westinghouse, American Nuclear Society and General Atomics. [39]
  • April 6, 2009: in Evanston, Illinois, Moore gave a talk at Northwestern University, on "his environmental conversion," from opponent to supporter of nuclear power [40] [41] [42]
  • May 20, 2009: in Montgomery, Alabama, for a keynote presentation and roundtable at an event considering whether "national policies such as the renewable portfolio standard are geographically and economically fair to the southeast region of the United States." The organizer is the Partnership for Affordable Clean Energy, a 501(c)(4) organization "fighting for fair, responsible energy policies. PACE believes that the national conversation about the future of energy must include discussions about the cost of particular energy alternatives, not just their environmental benefits." [43] [44]
  • July 14, 2009: in Saskatoon, Canada, to speak at the North Saskatoon Business Association Luncheon, on nuclear energy. "Doctor Patrick Moore says no one in Canada has ever been harmed by nuclear energy," reported local media. "Moore says wind and solar are not the answer, because they are expensive, and you need a backup for producing power when there is no wind or sun." [45] [46]
  • Week of July 13, 2009: in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, speaking at "a Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce function" on nuclear power. [47]
  • August 18, 2009: in Chicago, Illinois, as a keynote speaker at the Independent Garden Center Show, sponsored by Bayer Advanced, a company that makes pesticides. [48] Moore's talk is titled, "True Environmentalism for the 21st Century Garden." [49]
  • September 16, 2009: in San Antonio, Texas, as a panelist at the San Antonio Clean Technology Forum, featuring CPS Energy interim General Manager Steve Bartley. "The forum focused on the economics around the utility's plans to partner with NRG Energy to build two more nuclear reactors near Bay City," reported the Express-News. Moore "was outspokenly critical of the 'pie in the sky' scenarios of wind and solar power filling San Antonio's needs in the future. He also insisted the financial worries surrounding nuclear are overblown." [50]
  • October 5: Moore was a speaker at the Mining Exposed 2009: Our Nuclear World conference organised by the Mining Association of Nova Scotia. The conference was held in Halifax.[51][52]
