Biography

Born in Galesburg, IL, Hare was raised in Rock Island. He worked as a factory worker and union organizer before his friend, Lane Evans, was elected to Congress in 1982, at which point he left his job to become Evans' District Director. He and his wife Becky have two daughters. [1]

2006 elections

Hare defeated Republican Rep. Andrea Lane Zinga 57%-43% to replace retiring Rep. Lane Evans in the 2006 congressional elections. [2]
