Schulman, Brown, and Kahn identify twelve super-stars of research who over the years obtained 32 % of the $16.4 million distributed in extramural grants, these were in order of their dollar support from the Foundation: Loyd Ohlin, Morris Janowitz, Joseph Ben David, Harry Ball, Philip Selznick, Henry Cohen (New York City), David French, Edward Volkardt, Richard Schwartz, Lawrence Kohlberg, Sol Levine, and Edward Suchman.
