The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University became a division of Johns Hopkins University in 1950. "When SAIS opened, 15 students were enrolled. By 1963, SAIS outgrew its first quarters on Florida Avenue, Washington, D.C., and moved to one of its two present buildings on Massachusetts Avenue. By 1995, more than 8,600 men and women had graduated from SAIS. They are now working in 143 countries."[1]
