Special Ops Associates
Special Ops Associates was formed in 1989 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, by veteran of the US Army's 20th Special Forces, Captain David Kellerman. By 1995 they established themselves as one of the first companies offering comprehensive maritime security services. Kellerman is also the founder of MaritimeSecurity.com and Worldwide Maritime Piracy. SOA has recovered more than 400 stolen vessels from eleven different countries. [1]
They have formed a multinational venture with Australian firm Systems Integrated International and Kingswood Project from Britain [2], the Maritime Security Initiative, to train against and prevent attacks on the high seas.[3]
