Biography
Herger was born May 20, 1945 in Yuba City, California, attended California State University, Sacramento and was a cattle rancher, businessman and member of the California State Assembly (1980-1986) before entering the House.
2006 elections
In 2006, the Democrats nominated A.J. Sekhon to face Herger in his November 2006 bid for reelection. (See U.S. congressional elections in 2006) [1] Herger retained his seat.
