Western Mining Corporation (WMC) is an Australia uranium mining corporation 100% owned by BHP Billiton. It runs the Olympic Dam uranium mine in South Australia.

Funding the neoliberal movement

Western Mining Corporation has been an instrumental supporter of neoliberal groups in Australia. It has provided financial backing for the Centre for Independent Studies and the Institute of Public Affairs. Former WMC executives Hugh Morgan and Ray Evans, have founded and contributed to the Lavoisier Group, the Bennelong Society, and the HR Nicholls Society.
