Biographical Information

"Educated at Eton College and then joined family business, Robert Fleming Holdings in 1970. Moved to South Africa in 1991 to open Fleming offices in Southern Africa (Fleming Martin in SA, Edwardes & Co. in Zimbabwe, Stockbrokers Botswana in Gaberone), Chairman of West Rand Consolidated Mines Ltd and Kalahari Goldridge Mining Co. Ltd., which both merged with Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd in 1999.

"Adam retired as Deputy Chairman of Robert Fleming when the business was sold to J P Morgan Chase in 2000 and joined the Board of Harmony as Chairman. He joined Fleming Family & Partners as a Senior Advisor in June 2003 and retired as Chairman of Harmony in September 2003. Founder and Chairman of Wits Gold in 2004 and became Chairman of Fleming Family & Partners Limited in January 2009."[1]
