Allene Zanger

"Prior to being appointed to her current position, Zanger served as director of domestic programs for the Peace Corps.

"Prior to her Peace Corps service, Zanger served as director of school-community partnerships in the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office in Bakersfield, California. In Kern County, she founded and served as program director for the Central Valley Communities for Children AmeriCorps Program.

"Zanger's career includes several years in the Office of the California Attorney General as a deputy attorney general. She also served as the vice president of public affairs and general counsel of the Tejon Ranch Company, a publicly-held corporation headquartered in California.

"Her Peace Corps experience began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama from 1993 to 1995. She earned a Juris Doctorate from Hastings College of the Law in 1980 and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Pacific in Stockton, California, in 1977." [1]
