The American Nuclear Energy Council was the lobbying arm of the U.S. nuclear power industry. In 1994, it merged with a number of other U.S. nuclear industry lobby groups to form the Nuclear Energy Institute. [1]

The current chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission,[2] Joseph T. Kelliher, worked for the American Nuclear Energy Council in the 1980s. [3]
