Biography

"Angela is a General Practitioner who pioneered the development of modern multiagency health and social care centres. Prince Philip House was opened in 1996 and provides access to over 20 services including medical, nursing, therapy, musculoskeletal, paediatric and mental health services. It also houses a large police office and an education centre.

"Angela continues to provide GP services in Prince Philip House; she is also a Medical Director in NHS England, chair of Clinical Governance in G4S plc and holds a Directorship in Turning Point Ltd. She has extensive knowledge of urban regeneration, local government and the NHS and was advisor to a former Secretary of State for Health. She was an Associate Director of Primary Care for the Department of Health.

"Angela was Director of the Leicester Urban Regeneration Company; a former Chair of the Leicester City Strategic Partnership and Chairman of the board of Leicestershire Promotions Ltd. She has also sat on a number of NHS and Department of Health Boards and regularly contributes to the media on health matters. She was formerly a Senior Lecturer in the University of Leicester where since 1996 she pioneered a teaching model of inter-professional teamworking for all healthcare staff. In 1999 Angela was awarded the MBE for Services to Medicine and the Community; in 2001 she was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Leicestershire and in 2008 awarded the CBE for Services to Healthcare." "Angela joined Turning Point's board in September 2008 and also sits on our Audit Committee. A GP by trade since 1988, she was responsible for developing the multi-agency health and community centre, Prince Philip House. As Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester, Director of the Centre for Studies in Community Health Care and Head of the Professional Development Unit for Leicester Medical School, she pioneered a model of inter-professional learning for doctors, nurses, social workers and other therapists. In 1999 Angela was awarded an MBE for services to medicine and the community - and in 2008 she received a CBE for services to healthcare." [2]
