Australian Nuclear Energy

Australian Nuclear Energy is a company established in June 2006 by Ron Walker, Robert Champion de Crespigny and Hugh Morgan (all of whom have very close links to the Liberal Party), with the apparent aim of building a nuclear power station in Australia.


A media statement released by the company stated that it was established to "examine potential commercial response to future energy needs" and that it had "not put forward a proposal to build nuclear power plants in Australia. The company will make no further comment." [1] (pdf

Ownership

Walker and de Crespigny each own 40% of ANE, and Morgan, the former head of uranium producer Western Mining Corporation has 20%.
