The Boehm Foundation "provides support to grassroots groups in the U.S. and their support organizations working to advance democratic values, civil and economic rights and to eliminate the root causes of conflict." [1]

"The Boehm Foundation provides support to grassroots groups in the US to help meet the challenges of democratic participation, and to address widening economic and racial inequalities between countries, regions and peoples. This is a family foundation started by Robert Boehm who has been a lifetime supporter of peace and justice causes and the rights of working people. Boehm is one of the original members of the National Lawyers Guild, and the Boehm Foundation is a major supporter of The Center for Constitutional Rights, a public interest litigation organization founded by Arthur Kinnoy and William Kunstler.

"The foundation makes grants in two program areas:

"It supports grassroots organizations that are nurturing progressive new activists, and young leaders who are addressing the foundation's areas of concern. It provides capacity building grants to progressive statewide, regional and national organizations with clear links to grassroots policy campaigns in the foundation's areas of concern. The foundation places emphasis on organizations with limited access to financial and other resources, and organizations working with low-income and immigrant communities and communities of color
