Dr. Apambire "is currently the Director of the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector in World Vision U.S. where he helps to design global water programs, and oversees the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of large-scale integrated water supply and sanitation programs in developing countries. He also represents World Vision U.S. in the international water and sanitation arena, including the West Africa Water Initiative, Millennium Water Alliance, Global Water for Sustainability Program, universities and research institutions, and other professional organizations. Dr. Apambire has extensive experience in rural water supplies and sanitation, having worked as a Hydrogeologist and Water/Sanitation Specialist for over 15 years in the sector. He was involved in the siting, design and construction of 670 water systems and other water supply systems in about 400 communities and 140 institutions when he worked in West Africa. He is highly familiar with drinking water quality, environmental and health issues, and ground- and surface-water sampling and analysis, and has researched into and published on water quality and human health.

"Prior to joining World Vision U.S., Dr. Apambire was an Assistant Research Professor with the Desert Research Institute (DRI) while teaching a class on water supplies in developing countries at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is currently an Adjunct Faculty at the DRI. He received his B.S. from the University of Ghana, M.S. from the Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Center, Canada, and his Ph.D. in Hydrogeology from the University of Nevada, Reno." [1]
