Academic Programme Director of the John Smith Trust, "Dr Brian Brivati has worked with the John Smith Trust since 2008. Brian is a specialist in designing and delivering leadership and personal development programmes for the government, not for profit and private sectors. As Academic Programme Director Brian is responsible for the delivery of Fellowship programmes designed for emerging leaders from the Former Soviet Union and Middle East. In this capacity he has worked with many Fellows and seen the realisation of their action plans.

"Other projects that Brian is currently working on include running the international development programme for the D Group and the D Academy which involves D Group members including DLA Piper, PGI, Bechtel and Cleave and Co on their CSR programmes. He is a senior adviser at Integrity Research and a consultant at Project Associates. He is involved in projects across fifteen countries in the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, the Gulf and Africa. Previously, Brian was Professor of Contemporary History at Kingston University, where he created the BA and MA programmes in Human Rights. He has also written four and edited ten academic books. He is co-chair of the Kurdish Genocide UK advisory council and on the editorial boards of Total Politics and the IPPR Journal. He is a frequent contributor to print and broadcast media and a keynote and guest lecturer on a range of topics in the UK and abroad."[1]

Brian Brivati has been director of the John Smith Memorial Trust since January 2008.[2]
