Chinguane Mabote

"Born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, during the war for Mozambique independence. Studied in the UK, graduating with BSc Honours in Engineering Science at Hull University in 1994, through a scholarship sponsored by Defence Systems (DSL) Ltd. Returned to the UK in 1998, achieving an MSc Business Project Management degree at Lincoln University. In 1994 he joined the Mozambique Ports & Railways (CFM-EP) where he occupied key management positions from junior to executive level, having held the position of Beira Port CEO and Deputy CEO at CFM-Center. Joined BHP Billiton Ltd in 2003 at the Mozambique Aluminium Smelter (MOZAL), first as the Superintendent Procurement-CB and later as Business Improvement Specialist. In 2006, he was called back to Government. He then set up a Mozambican defence and security company called Monte Binga SA, which focused on the elaboration of the Mozambique Transport Strategy. In 2009, he became a Member of the Mozambique Parliament to the Frelimo Party for Gaza constituency. In 2015, Chinguane joined Lord Westbury to create the Chelsea Group Mozambique (CGMoz) Ltd." [1]

He is the son of Sebastiao Mabote, a senior commander of Frelimo at its independence in 1987.
