Claudia A. McMurray "is Senior Counsellor to the Prince of Wales's International Sustainability Unit (ISU), representing the sustainability work of the Prince’s Charities in the United States. She has spent her career as a lawyer, policymaker and diplomat, focusing on issues related to the environment, natural resource conservation, sustainability, energy, health and science. She currently serves on a number of boards and advisory committees that deal with these issues.

"Before joining the Prince’s Charities, Ms. McMurray served as Senior Counsel to President Obama’s Commission investigating the BP oil spill, and President and CEO of Mainstream Green Solutions, LLC, a consulting firm providing strategic advice on sustainability, climate change, and other environmental issues." From 2005-2008, she served as Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans, Environment and Science, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Environment from 2003-2005. In both State Department positions, Ms. McMurray was a strong advocate on behalf of the U.S. for the protection of endangered wildlife and its habitat around the world.

"Previously, Ms. McMurray served as Associate Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Enviromental Protection Agency and counsel to the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. She has also practiced law in Washington at global law firms Patton Boggs, LLP and Kirkland and Ellis.

"Ms. McMurray is an honors graduate of Smith College and has a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law School, where she served as an editor of the law review." [2]
