Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economy (CERES) "was founded in 1989 by US businesses, foundations and environmental groups, in order to standardise environmental reports. Participating businesses have to adopt the 10 CERES principles into company guidelines and processes, and are obliged to report annually on environmental activities by means of a form. The form is regarded as an environmental report. Those who consider this to be too standardised are permitted to submit their own reports, which have to follow the structure of the CERES form. CERES also founded the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) office." [1]

Mindy S. Lubber, President, also directs the Investor Network on Climate Risk.
