Communication Partnership for Science and the Sea (COMPASS) "catalyzes science-based solutions for ocean health by connecting the latest science to other scientists, journalists, policy makers, and the public. Grounded in science, we operate at the nexus of science, policy, and communications, working to condition the policy-making climate for marine conservation and connecting science to marine policies and management practices." [1]

"COMPASS is funded by a number of private charitable foundations, including the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Resources Legacy Fund Foundation, and Meyer Memorial Trust." [2]
