Constantinus Johannes Fauconnier [1]

"Dr. Fauconnier has 38 years' experience in the mining industry. Prior to joining Namakwa, he was the chief executive officer of Exxaro Resources Ltd and was responsible for the overall strategy and financial and operating results of the Exxaro group. He was also the chief executive of Kumba Resources Ltd for five years and was a director at Iscor Ltd between 1997 and 2001. He currently serves on the advisory board of the University of Stellenbosch Business School. He is also on the advisory board of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology and is a member of the advisory committee of the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Pretoria. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and is a fellow of the SA Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa, Institute of Directors and the South African Academy of Engineering. Dr. Fauconnier graduated with a B.Sc. Hons (Eng) in 1969 and an M.Sc. (Eng) in 1972 from the University of Pretoria. He obtained his MBA from the University of Oregon in the United States, followed by a D. Eng in 1981 from the University of Pretoria. He attended the Strategic Leadership Programme and the Senior Executive Finance Programme at Oxford University and in 2004, received his D.Sc. (honoris causa) from the University of the Free State."
