Daniel Horn (Dir., U.S. Nat'l Clearinghouse for Smoking & Health, c. 1968): Born: 28 May 1916, d. October 7, 1992 Frenchtown, NJ
In 1952, Dr. E. Cuyler Hammond and Daniel Horn of the American Cancer Society began a massive prospective study of 187,000 smokers and nonsmokers. The death rate from cancer for smokers was five times the rate for nonsmokers (E. Whelan 1984).
