Daniel J. Sokatch

Daniel J. Sokatch "took on the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties on July 15, 2008. Previously he was Founding Executive Director of Progressive Jewish Alliance, an organization dedicated to ensuring social and economic justice, promoting equality, dialogue and diversity, and serving as a progressive voice in the Jewish community.

"Sokatch is a founding board member of IKAR, one of the most innovative new Jewish spiritual communities in the country. He’s also a visiting instructor at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles where he teaches “Social Justice and Spiritual Activism” and a faculty member of Reboot, a national network that connects Jewish Americans from the literary, entertainment, hi-tech, political, social action and academic communities.

"Sokatch graduated from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy with a Master's Degree, earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude from Boston College Law School and a Bachelor's in History from Brandeis University. He has published widely in the press as well as in Jewish journals. He and his wife Dana and their two young daughters have relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area." [1]
