David Atkinson "was a UK Member of Parliament (Conservatives) for 28 years until April 2005 when he retired from the House of Commons. David Atkinson has been outspoken on the need for accountable and equitable approaches to address the root causes of armed conflict and terrorism through international law and multilateral institutions. In 2000 he was the first British back-bench MP to address the United Nations General Assembly. He served as Treasurer to the All-Party Parliamentary Group for World Government." [1]
