Dixon Psio Gblah

Dixon Psio Gblah (Liberia) "holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Political Science and training certificates in criminal justice, human rights, community development, conflict resolution, and human resource management. He has worked as deputy chief of surveillance with the Liberian National Police, and was a founding member, senior human rights monitor and program officer for the National Human Rights Monitor, a local human rights organization in Liberia. Mr. Gblah was founder and executive director of Liberia Prison Watch. He previously worked for the Foundation for International Dignity (FIND) as senior research and information officer. Currently, he serves as FIND's national program coordinator for Sierra Leone. Mr. Gblah was imprisoned several times under former Liberian President Charles Taylor's regime for publishing human rights reports and articles in the local media that catalogued violations and abuses committed by state security agencies. In July 2002, with assistance from Amnesty International London, he fled political persecution in Liberia and went into exile in Sierra Leone."
