Eagle Downs Coal Project

The project, which has a notional commissioning date of 2012, is projected to produce 4.6 million tonnes of coking coal per year. The project is projected to cost $988 million to construct.
In an interview with the Courier Mail, Vale's global managing director of coal, Decio Amaral, said that he hoped to submit a $1.3 billion development plan for the Eagle Downs project to Vale's board in mid-2011.
