Biographical Information

"Ellen Riotte joined the Open Society Foundations in February 2011. She is responsible for the management and coordination of research and pilot projects tackling innovative approaches to keeping societies open in Europe.

"Before joining the Open Society Foundations, she worked as advocacy and communications officer at the European Council on Foreign Relations in Paris. Her previous experience is as media and public affairs consultant at the OECD Berlin Centre, and program assistant at the German Marshall Fund. In spring 2010 she helped found Asylos, a network of volunteers researching information to assist lawyers representing asylum-seekers in Europe.

"She holds a diploma in political sciences from the Free University Berlin and a master’s degree in international relations from the Sorbonne. She is fluent in German, English, French, and Greek."[1]
