Emerging Markets Group
Emerging Markets Group (EMG) was founded in 1991 by Gregory Fossedal, chairman of the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution (AdTI). It was from 1990 to 1997 an operating division of Lehrman Bell Mueller Cannon , an econometric consulting firm.
AdTI and Bruce Thompson (one of the first members of the corporate board of AdTI) were also involved in EMG:
"EMG was launched as a directed investment fund in 1989 with support from the late Bruce Thompson of Pacific Western Realty and the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution."
EMG manages the Democratic Century Fund, a hedge fund investing in emerging market securities that focuses on country selection.
From 1991 through 1999, EMG offered reports on political and policy changes in the emerging markets.
It currently has no web presence, but some old material can be found in the Internet Archive .
