FPA represents and is primarily funded by New York's Planned Parenthood affiliates, with additional support from member family planning clinics and dozens of sister organizations, as well as thousands of individual members across the state...

"Originally established in 1977 as a 501(c)(4) advocacy organization, FPA later expanded its outreach and public education efforts. In 1987 FPA established the Education Fund of FPA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, because FPA’s Albany-based efforts to shape progressive state policies depend upon an informed, organized and involved citizenry."
