Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) "is a women's non-governmental organization (NGO) working to engender the peace process in Africa. Since its inception in 1996, FAS has worked to foster, strengthen and promote the leading role of women in the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts on the African continent." [1]

"In partnering with grassroots women's organizations, FAS is committed to working in tandem with them to support local movements and endeavours, rather than competing with them. FAS frequently works in partnership with organizations such as the Mano River Women's Peace Network (Marwopnet), Pro-Femmes, the African Women's Committee on Peace and Development (AWCPD) and the West African Women's Association (WAWA). In so doing, it makes every effort to disseminate information about their activities and generate." [2]
