Frank S. Moseley "a member of Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Litigation Department, is a senior trial lawyer. His practice includes class action securities cases, complex commercial contract litigation, international arbitration and constitutional law litigation.

"Mr. Moseley regularly represents Credit Suisse First Boston in a wide range of arbitrations, securities matters and other litigation. He represented a major manufacturer in the successful trial of indemnity claims arising out of the sale of a business, for payments made to settle asbestos personal injury litigation. He also represented Brown-Forman Corporation in the successful trial and appeal of claims to terminate certain U.S. wine marketing and trade name rights and in the successful appeal of a judgment dismissing claims of misappropriation of trade secrets and tortious interference with contract. For Prudential Securities he won a trial of claims in arbitration arising out of the sale of limited partnership interests. In addition, he defended the independent directors of Exxon in shareholder derivative litigation filed after the Valdez oil spill. In his most recent trial, he won a judgment against the State and City of New York for violations of the constitutional right to counsel of indigents in the criminal and family courts of New York City, including a permanent injunction more than doubling the hourly rates paid to counsel appointed to represent indigents.

"He has served as co-chairman of the Committee on International Litigation of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. He is a frequent faculty member, and formerly co-chair, of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy/N.Y. County Lawyers Association Trial Skills Academy. He is a member of the board of directors of the Center for the Community Interest.

"Mr. Moseley joined Davis Polk in 1970 and became a partner in 1976. He served on the firm’s management committee from 1990 to 1992. He was associated with Strobl, Killius & Vorbrugg (Munich, Germany) from 1968 to 1970.“ [1]
