Background

PCKL has initiated the bidding process for developing the project, and the government of Karnataka has approved transfer of 1300 acres of government land in Vantamuri village, Hukkeri taluk, Belgaum district. Coal linkage and water allocation will be considered after land acquisition details are submitted to the CEA.[1]

However, a 2014 list of proposed plants by PCKL lists Ghataprabha as a proposed 20 MW unit. The power station at 1320 MW appears to have been abandoned.[2]
