The Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States is a report which was released in June 2009 which "summarizes the science of climate change and the impacts of climate change on the United States, now and in the future." The report was prepared by a team of scientists and is "largely based on results of the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP). The USGCRP states on its website that the report "discusses climate-related impacts for various societal and environmental sec tors and regions across the nation. It is an authoritative scientific report written in plain language, with the goal of better informing public and private decision making at all levels."[1]

The report was prepared by an "expert team of scientists" and, after review, approved by the USGCRP, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, the Department of the Interior, the Department of State, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Health and Human Services, the National Aeronautics & Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, the Smithsonian Institution, the Agency for International Development, the Department of Agriculture, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Committee on the Environment and Natural Resources on behalf of the National Science and Technology Council.[2]
