Biographical Information

"Hélène Irving is a program coordinator for the Open Society At Home in Europe project, exploring the experiences of ordinary Muslims in 11 cities of Western Europe. This research looks at the ways in which municipal and national authorities address the challenges relating to integration in select European cities and the impact of various public policies on identity and belonging.

"Prior to joining the Open Society Institute in 2007, Irving worked in supporting roles at the Asylum Support Partnership and to the chief executive of the British Refugee Council, respectively, and as interfaith and networking coordinator in a community and youth center in East London. She holds an MA in interreligious dialogue and a BEd (honors) in religious studies from the University of Cambridge."
