"Home-Start Worldwide is a grass roots organisation, working worldwide to support families with young children. Home-Start around the world works with networks of trained parent volunteers to offer support to vulnerable families. In rich and poor communities, in 22 countries on five continents, Home-Start reaches out to families in need to provide friendship and practical help. "[1]

"Home-Start was founded in the UK, in 1973, with the sole purpose of helping families through times of crisis and stress, so that they can best care for their children. Founded in Leicester in the English Midlands by Margaret Harrison CBE, now Life President of Home-Start in the UK, it quickly spread across the UK. Home-Start Worldwide was founded in 1999 in response to requests for help from individuals across the world, inspired by the success of Home-Start in the UK, who wanted to establish Home-Start in their own communities."[2]
