Irene Crowe "is president of the Pettus Crowe Foundation. Deeply interested in animal welfare, she works with animal sanctuaries and programs to preserve wildlife in South Asia and Africa. With a doctorate of sociology, Irene has extensive teaching experience. She is particularly interested in the biomedical and environmental ethical questions raised by genetic biotechnology and supports projects in this area coordinated by The Hastings Center. Irene also works extensively with HIV/AIDS educational projects developed by low-income minority women." [1]
