Biographical Information

"Jeff has more than 30 years’ experience in the food industry in the UK and internationally. Latterly he held Managing Director positions with household-name businesses such as Fox's Biscuits/ Northern Foods, Bernard Matthews, and First Milk. His background is in marketing and commercial roles with international companies such as Mars, Numico (Cow & Gate/ Milupa/ Nutricia), and Colgate-Palmolive. He was also Managing Director of a private-equity backed SME, Microban Europe, which supplies anti-bacterial protection built into polymers.

"Since leaving his most recent executive role as Managing Director of Bernard Matthews in 2010, Jeff has built a portfolio career across private, public, and 3rd sectors, particularly in areas that add social value. He is Chair of Cafédirect plc, the UK’s first and largest 100% Fairtrade drinks business. Cafédirect works with more than 280,000 coffee, tea and cocoa growers in 38 registered Fairtrade producer organisations across 12 developing countries, affecting the lives of more than 1.8 million people around the world. Its mission is to change lives and communities through inspirational and sustainable business.

"Jeff is also Chair-Elect of Airport Coordination Ltd. ACL is responsible for slot allocation, schedules facilitation and schedule data collection at a large number of UK and international airports and provides a wide range of services to the aviation industry. In the public sector, Jeff is a Board Member of the Food Standards Agency, and Vice-Chair of Governors at the University of Bedfordshire.

"Until recently Jeff was a Trustee and Director of Shaw Trust, and a Non-Executive Director of NHS Norfolk and Waveney Primary Care Trust."[1]
