John F. Cooke

John F. Cooke, "a 30-year veteran of the media industry, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Western Territories Group, LLC, a company which is investing in businesses in California and Colorado. Previously, Mr. Cooke served at the J. Paul Getty Trust as Executive Vice President, External Affairs. Before the Getty, Mr. Cooke was Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs at Disney Corporate, and President of The Disney Channel. Before joining Disney, Mr. Cooke served as Executive Vice President of Times Mirror Cable Television and President of Times Mirror Satellite Programming. Mr. Cooke is Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Film Institute, Chair of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, and Chair of the Board of Councilors of the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of Johns Hopkins University, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, a member of the Los Angeles Board of Governors of the Museum of Television and Radio, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations." "Prevously, he was executive vice president for external affairs at the J. Paul Getty Trust and also served as a senior executive at the Walt Disney Company for 15 years. He has been integrally involved with Hopkins for many years as chair of the Krieger School's Villa Spelman Advisory Council, as a founding member of the national development council for the School, and as a member of the advisory council of The Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, its Bologna (Italy) Center, and the Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies."
