John Salsgiver of Ford City, Pennsylvania, who has most recently attacked incumbent Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. John Murtha, has a track record of vividly-worded online posts and letters to the editor:

In the June 17, 2004, "Howard Stern, more court jester than kingmaker" letter to the editor of The Hill, Salsgiver wrote that

"Stern’s admission that he backed Republicans like New York Gov. George Pataki and former New Jersey Gov. Christine Whitman is irrelevant since they are, in my opinion, Republicans in name only. Neither believes in the values of conservatives, who are the base of the Republican Party."

In response to Dennis M. Becklin's June 21, 2005, GrantPassNews.com article "Senator Dick Durbin's Half-Apologies For Nazi Slurs Are Part And Parcel Of Democrat Invective," Salsgiver commented June 22, 2005, that "Durbin's treason can not go unpunished":

"Mr. Becklin: Thanks for your reasoned response to Durbin's non-apology. Dubin and his minion of malcontents side with those who murder innocent civilians via explosives or the blade. Durbin's acts were nothing short of treason; he provided 'aid and comfort' to the enemy. Durbin must be removed from office. President Bush must direct the FBI to investigate and bring about criminal charges against Durbin, prosecute him and when found guilty, Durbin must receive the appropriate punishment under 18 U.S.C. 2381-TO WIT: 'Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or ADHERES TO THEIR ENEMIES, GIVING THEM AID AND COMFORT WITHIN THE UNITED STATES or elsewhere, is guilty of TREASON and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.'"

This is the same John Salsgiver who, on June 29, 2005, commented in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on the Supreme Court eminent domain decision regarding the New London, CT, Kelo private property case:

"Five tyrants in black robes legislated that your property can be taken by the government and sold to the highest-bidding private individual who can in turn develop it for profit. ... What a mechanism for kickbacks to politicians!"

In a March 26, 2006, letter to the editor published in the Washington Times regarding "White House seeks mercy for Christian convert," Salsgiver wrote:

"Declaring that Mr. Rahman may be insane, as suggested elsewhere, and, thus, worthy of forgiveness is a red herring. It's merely a face-saving gesture on the part of the Afghan government. Mark my words, even if Mr. Rahman is officially cleared for reasons of falsified mental defect, he surely will pay the ultimate and unjust penalty. The fanatical Islam bosses aren't going to stand by idly and let Christianity gain a foothold."

Posting on Rush Limbaugh's website, in response to "Are You A Dittohead???", Salsgiver of Ford City, PA, wrote

"You May Be A 'Dittohead' If:" "When agreeing with Rush, you cause your friends of a liberal slant and weakened mind to experience physical distress, heart palpitations, increased blood pressure, and uncontrolled fits of rage."
