Biographical Information

Jonathan Ashworth MP, known as Jon, has been the local Labour Party MP for Leicester South since May 2011 when he was elected in a by-election. He is chair of the All Party Group for the East Midlands. [1] In April 2013 he taught for the day at Samworth Enterprise Academy; his visit having been “organised" by Teach First. [2]

On January 13, 2015, he supported the Government's "Charter for Budget Responsibility" which will see a further £30 billion cut from the Government's budget.
