According to the website of JHPIEGO, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University that works on development projects impacting women and children around the world, KAAL aired one of its VNRs. The website lists KAAL as one of three TV stations that included "footage from JHPIEGO video news release on tsunami recovery efforts in Banda Aceh, Indonesia" on December 22, 24, 25 and 26, 2005. In addition to KAAL, KFDA-10 in Amarillo, Texas, and KTVU-2 in San Francisco, California, aired the VNR. [2]
