Biography

"Mr. Lindsay P. Tomlinson served as the Chief Executive at BlackRock Advisors (UK) Limited (Formerly, Barclays Global Investors Limited). Mr. Tomlinson served as also the Chief Executive and Director at Barclays Global Investors Pensions Management Ltd. Mr. Tomlinson was also responsible for apportionment and oversight at the two firms. He served as the Chief Executive at BZW Asset Management. Previously, Mr. Tomlinson was a Senior Investment Manager at Provident Mutual and also worked as a Pensions Actuary. He joined Barclays Global Investors in 1987, initially serving in its quantitative investment management group and served as its Managing Director since 1990. Mr. Tomlinson has contributed to the development of the financial services industry through membership of a range of relevant industry bodies. He serves as Vice Chairman of BlackRock Advisors (UK) Limited. Mr. Tomlinson served as a Vice-Chairman of the board of Barclays Global Investors of Barclays PLC. He has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Legal & General Group Plc since May 1, 2013. He serves as Non Executive Director of Legal & General Investment Management. He served as a Panel Member of The Takeover Panel (U.K.) until January 2014. Mr. Tomlinson is a member of the Actuaries' Professional Affairs Board. He served as Director at Woolwich Unit Trust Managers Ltd and Woolwich Plan Managers Limited. Mr. Tomlinson was awarded the OBE for services to the fund management industry in the 2005 Queen's Birthday Honours List. He served as the Chairman and Director of National Association of Pension Funds from 2009 to 2011. He is a Member of the Financial Reporting Council, and of the NAPF Investment Council. Mr. Tomlinson became a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1973. He has postgraduate qualification in Mathematical Statistics and graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Mathematics." [1]
